John worked as a truck driver for Pontiac Furniture and later was a -employed contractor. He enjoyed antique tractors and airplanes. John was a great storyteller who loved life and loved to laugh. He always expressed his belief that everyone should laugh at least once a day. John was a loving husband, dad, grandpa and friend who will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Charles, Roland and Alan. Nelson taught at Emden Grade School from 1946 to 1952 then began farming in the Emden area. He served in the U.S. Army in New Guinea and the Philippines during World War II from 1943 to 1946. He was a member of St.

Peter Lutheran Church in Emden and its Lutheran Brotherhood, member of Logan County Farm Bureau, member of the Emden Farmers Grain Co. board for 22 years and served as president for 13 years, served as trustee of Prairie Creek Township Board and was a member of Emden American Legion Post 506 and Forty et 8. Nelson was a loving, caring father, uncle, godfather and friend to many. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St.

Cory was an excellent painter and handyman during his working years.

He worked at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Danville for many years. He also was a story writer, a master gardener and a very good cook. Those who knew Cory will remember him for his straightforward personality and character. Cory is with God now, and joins many loved family members and friends.

Mr. Beutow was born Aug. 20,1935, in Bloomington, the son of Paul Max and Leona D. Carr Beutow.

They preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Jackie Leekieta Wade on Sept. 19, 1958. Mrs. Beutow preceded him in death Dec.

9, 2000. Mr. Beutow was the owner of Beutow's Grocery and River Heights Grocery in Crump, from 1978 to 1999. He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps.

He is survived by three sons, Charles (Debbie) Beutow Clinton; Timothy (Sharon) Beutow, Port Richey, and Scott Beutow, Selmer, two daughters, Lona (Creath) Simmons, Adamsville, and Tina (Doug) Britt, Adamsville, two brothers, Franklin (Mia) Beutow, Bloomington, and Robert (Barbara) Beutow, Devils Lake, N.D.; a sister, Dianne (Norman) Phillips, Normal; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great -grandchildren. Myrtle worked for many years at Archdale's Restaurant in Waukegan and later worked for Outboard Marine Corp. and was a certified nursing assistant at Victory Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garnet "Joe" Frawley; children, Donald J. She also leaves many beloved nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Azalee (Jimmie) Calhoun; and her brother, Leon Varnadore. Joyce was an administrative pastor at Christian Faith Center who was very active in visiting the sick.

She truly cared about people and was a positive influence on everyone she came in contact with. She was known for her hospitality and loved hosting get -togethers at her home.
